Service Description

Delve into this highly choreographed yet authentic evidence-based and health-goal oriented Tai Chi form innovation. Historically many different forms were developed over time in China. In the mid-1950s when the Chinese government decided to share systemwide Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) for health purposes, it was decided that the 108 form of Young style was too challenging for people to learn; thus they developed the 24 Form. Many of the other family styles followed suit and created their own 24 Form. But today the 24 Form is too difficult to learn for many people. Grandmaster Shan Tucker developed is a Hun Yuan Open Heart Taiji 20 Form, which is hopefully adequate and easier for people to learn. It was derived from the teachings of Sifu Justin Meehan, Master Jared He and Grandmaster Feng Zhiquang. The Spring 2026 course is offered free of charge for practitioners who have learned the basic level of the 20-Form. The goal of this Spring training is to achieve seamless group performance of the 20-Form to present at the 2026 Missouri Botanical Garden Chinese Festival in St. Louis, May 2-3, 2026. Emerging Gong will provide an outfit for this performance. Where: TBA Start date: February 7th, 2026, subject to change. An in-person orientation meeting will be arranged once practitioners are selected.
